Set up an anonymous FTP Account

How to set up anonymous FTP access?

How to set up anonymous FTP access Anonymous FTP access allows anyone to access your public_ftp folder. The intention is to allow unidentified visitors to download (and possibly upload) files on your website. You cannot use anonymous FTP with a Hatchling or Baby plan. You must purchase and receive a dedicated IP address for your cPanel before anonymous FTP will work. Anonymous FTP users can view and download files if you have a Business or reseller plan. If you need to be able to upload to public_ftp, you can create an FTP account and set the home path as public_ftp/incoming, then anyone can use this newly created user name and password to upload to the public_ftp folder. Anonymous FTP users can view, edit, download, and upload files if you have a dedicated plan. This is not the best solution for security purposes. By allowing users to upload files without a username or password, you might generate a possible security hole for hackers. If you still wish to proceed, you may set up anonymous FTP access by doing the following: Click on FTP Manager Click on Anonymous FTP Controls Click on the Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com tick box or the Allow anonymous upload to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com/incoming tick box. You must click on both tick boxes to enable uploads. Click on the Save Settings button. We strongly recommend you create FTP accounts which require a username and password for a person to upload and download files on your website.
